Encased in a compact fully weather sealed body, the Pentax K-30 digital SLR comes equipped with a host of advanced photographic tools for the easy creation of great pictures in any weather condition. This compact but solid Pentax K-30 digital SLR comes equipped with a host of advanced photographic tools for the easy creation of great pictures, while delivering high standards of image quality, data processing speed and operability. Developed using the highly acclaimed Pentax K-7 as its base, the K-5 inherits the exceptional reliability, user-friendly operation, array of advanced features and compact, lightweight body of its predecessor. However, it is more resourceful and flexible in photographic expression. Combining a new high-speed, low-noise CMOS image sensor it produces super-high-resolution, rich-gradation digital images with approximately 16.3 effective megapixels, even when shooting in the continuous shooting mode at a maximum speed of approximately 6 images per second. It also offers an extra-wide sensitivity range between ISO 100 and ISO 25600 (when expanded via a custom function) and full HD-proportion movie recording at 1920 x 1080p 30/25/24 fps with h.264 compression to expand the boundaries of high-quality visual presentation. In camera sensor shift image stabilization that allows usage with any K-mount lens. Adding other improvements and refinements--such as a faster auto focusing speed, an upgraded HDR (High Dynamic Range) function now usable in handheld shooting, and better operability through an overall review of the design and shape of all components the K-30 is designed to be more functional and maneuverable in every detail, and in its response to the demands of the photographer in any weather condition. Included 18-55 and 50-200 mm lenses.

SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

1) just love this camera - After using my Kodak camera since 2005 I felt it was time to upgrade. The one thing that drove me to purchase this camera is that is is weather sealed and has an internal mirror cleaner. Being hone in NJ or in the AZ desert so far I have not had any problems with weather, cold, desert dust. I am glad I purchased this camera would recommend it to anyone who wants to take really nice pictures and not have to worry about the weather.

2) weather sealed , hell of a camera - Because of the place i leave, i need a camera handy if i want to go outside (most of the days are rainy or snowy). i love outside shooting, birds and sports stuff. I also need camera sometimes outside because of my profession. I already got other dslrs t3i and d7100, with many objectives. This little fella is my LIFE SAVER. I will not say it gets better pictures than d7100; it is not - as expected. However i dont want my d7100 ruined ( although i use body sleeves for all - i lost one outside). Moreover, quick "paintshop" operations just make it very near to quality of d7100. I bought this set for one grand. It saved me more than a grand already. Whenever it is rainy, snowy or windy i took only this with me. It just deserve all the money i paid for it.

You cannot compare this with other water proof point and shoot ones. This one is way better, near to a performance of t3i, maybe better. It is not as good as my d7100 though, but comparing the quality of them is nonsense. This one is for a different purpose and it works very well for me. Buy it if you are gonna use the machine in heavy weather condition. Otherwise buy a basic entrance level dslr. Price entrance level dslrs are 2\3 of this. If you use mostly inside and you need a good one, buy medium to professional dslrs.

By the way, it might be helpful to remind you, don't change objectives under rain or snow or wind.
