Leica M10-P White Edition Rangefinder Camera

The latest special edition camera from Leica Camera, the Leica M10-P "White", is a unique take on the flagship Leica M10-P digital rangefinder. The all-white paint finish with white cowhide leather covering, white engravings, silver accents and matching silver chrome Leica 50 mm Summilux-M f/1.4 ASPH. lens create a striking presence of a pure white canvas that allows the vibrant red of the Leica logo and lens alignment dot to beautifully catch the eye with their stark contrast.

Especially unique to this camera is the surrounding frame of the LCD and buttons on the rear, normally black, now in white for the first time. As for the lens, the metal silver chrome front cap, white engravings, and white focusing tab on the barrel maintain the unified look of the camera set in nearly every way possible. The Leica M10-P "White" will be limited to 350 sets worldwide, with an individual special edition number engraved on the hot shoe in white, exclusively available through Leica Stores and Boutiques.

SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

1) If you have the money... - Sure you can weigh the pros and cons of buying this Leica D-Lux 4 Titanium or saving money and getting it's cheaper counterpart. If you have the money...just do it...splurge a little, you won't be disappointed. Filled out the warranty online, which gives me 3 years total. Updated to the newest firmware 1.20 which was very easy using my SDHC card. The average person doesn't know the beauty of this camera, but those who know will instantly praise this beauty. Beautiful pictures and surprisingly really good HD video in 16:9 aspect ratio. There are many settings that are easily accessible with the quick user interface. A large and bright LCD makes taking pictures very easy. Compared pictures with this and my fathers Olympus, this blows it away, the light that this lens brings in is truly amazing. With it's matching case this is CLASS all the way around, you will get compliments from those that know.

2) Perfect - Things you need to know:
1. This takes INCREDIBLE pictures. i can take professional quality pictures and have to lug around.... essentially nothing.
2. The learning curve was a little rough but once you get it, everything is perfection.
3. It is beautiful. stunning. it was worth the extra money when I bought this.

mine was stolen from my house during a home invasion. I got it back because in searching craigslist and ebay, etc., when the limited edition popped up on my end of the state, i gave the cops the serial number and had them pick it up. i had had tons of stuff stolen (laptops, jewelry and so on)and it was the one thing i actually had cried over. I was elated to have it be the one item that was ever recovered.

i loooove it.

SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

1) Leica C-Lux 2 - I won't go into technical details here because those can be found on the Leica site etc. I really wanted to love this camera but...for the price I expected better. Here is a short and simple synopsis of what I found:

PROS:The material and workmanship of the product are supurb. The design is flawless and all controls are easy to access. You don't have to go deep into the menu to change basic important features. The "self protrait" feature works very well. Color and low light capture are superior.

CONS:The macro feature is only OK. The landscape pictures I took were poor. I tried all the different settings, took about 50 pictures and only a handful were acceptable to me. The video capture is OK with somewhat poor sound quality. You can't zoom while filming.

Overall, this is an interesting little camera. But for the price there are better alternatives like the Sony T-100. It is incredible both for pictures and video.

2) Extremely impressive pocket camera - I am *extremely* impressed by this little Leica.

This will be a rather short review since this camera model is already, like, 300 years old in dog years.

I was able to pick a new one up for less than [...] on the internets from someone who clearly didn't know what they were parting with. When I inquired into why the party was selling she only told me that her husband needed something newer.

I have owned and used dozens of cameras (Leica, Nikon, Canon, Rollie, Mamiya) in my career.

The C-LUX 2 is an amazing unit in terms of color authenticity, image quality, zoom quality, sensitivity, precision, workmanship, and most of all: usability and convenience.

I cannot stress how perfect the menu system is on this camera. It's perfect and the controls are precise, accurate, and delightful to use.

Convenience means that having this camera in your pocket you will never miss a great shot no matter where you are. Yes it really is that good. With controls from scene mode to nearly manual you have precise control of your pictures. There is no reason you cannot achieve a National Geo picture with this camera.

When the C-LUX 2 debuted at [.........] it was really a Euro-jet-setting no-show. Now that you can find this gem below [....] it is a must have.

5 stars based on current market conditions and availability in late 2008. Good luck finding a mint unit. If you are indefatigable you will find no better camera in the same class at any price.
