BRIEF ABOUT AUTHOR :

Hello; my name is Edward Bailey. I was born on June 10, 1961, in Alexandria, Virginia. After graduating from Edison High School in Alexandria, I taught myself the violin, which became my first passion. In 1989, I began experimenting with photography. I learned darkroom techniques and read photography magazines, was a member of a photography society, and attended art exhibits. Later, I graduated from the New York Institute of Photography. In early 2010, I turned my attention to computers and focused on learning all of the capabilities of Photoshop. As I continued to learn a vast array of equipment in photography and how to digitally manipulate my photographs with Photoshop, I began writing and eventually, composed several compelling books, including a complete guide to Photoshop and all of its features, functions, and benefits. Through my books, I show how to harness the power of Photoshop to create beautiful, extraordinary, and even profoundly imaginative images from photos that are taken from a camera. Today, my work is sought after and respected, not only by professional photographers, but by everyone wishing to learn the latest techniques in digital modification and modern photography.

SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

    1) A MUST HAVE video series for Lightroom users - As a photography enthusiast but new user of Lightroom , I purchased this tutorial series to help me get quick start in learning the program. I had spent a good deal of time hunting down youtube videos - some very good - some not, but as I discovered more about the power of L.R., the more I realized I needed to have something more comprehensive than just tutorials on a particular aspect of the program. Now that I've watch many of the videos and used Lightroom for about 4 weeks, I'm so happy that I have these videos to refer too. I would not have been able to use L.R. to its fullest without them. Laura clearly explains the how's and why's of this feature rich program in a easily understandable presentation. She also covers the new aspects of Lightroom CC and the mobile functions that come with that service. If you have made the investment of purchasing Lightroom, spend just a little more to easily learn all it's capabilities. I think it is worth every penny and was quite a bargain.

    2) A Very Well Done Series! - I have used Aperture for the last 7 years. All my images (more than (25,000) were in Aperture libraries and I dreaded learning another app and the subsequent transfer of my image files. I spent hours trying to grasp the nuances of Lightroom 6. The deeper I went, the more apparent it became that I needed some help grasping the finer points. I kept coming across Laura's name in my web searches for LR help. So, I read up on her courses and decided to take the $50.00 plunge and purchase The Fundamentals & Beyond video series. After completing all the modules I can honestly say "I know Lightroom" and I am very comfortable using all the features. This is a GREAT course. Easy to use and its always there if you need a refresher or two down the road. I don't hesitate at all recommending The Fundamentals and Beyond video series.

SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

    1) Great book, keeping for later! - I really enjoyed this book. It makes good, simple points. A lot of books i have been reading are so full of useless information to me, as a beginner i get very overwhelmed by all the craziness in the huge books. I will be keeping this book for future reference.

By Amybeth bowe on May 18, 2016

    2) Good only for the most beginner beginners - This book is 30 pages of large font written like a friend advising you in a Facebook post. Very good for someone who has never held a camera to skim through, but the typos and sometimes rambling, friendly tone detracted from the professionalism this author could have garnered from me, though she is clearly an experienced photographer and kudos to her for writing s book! Here's what I'd say --- if you just got a hand-me-down camera and have never read anything or spoken to anyone about how to take a good picture, this could be a good non-intimidating read. But if you just did some research and purchased a camera, or even know what a DSLR is, and if you have heard of the rule of thirds, then this is not a book for you.
