SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

1) A very good mirrorless DSLR like compact camera - I have tested my new Samsung NX2000 for 2 weeks and its overall performance and picture quality is not bad, actually very good. I was shopping a DSLR like mirrorless compact camera that provide light weight, changeable lens and good picture quality camera. I have two choices either Sony NEX5T (just released this month) or the Samsung NX2000. Believe me, you won't find too much reviews and details info on the website because both cameras are new. Some info and spec I found on line actually was incorrect and the reviewers did not really done a hand on review. Most of them were just review the camera spec sheet and criticize its good and bad. I concluded Sony NEX5T is a better mirror less camera than NX2000 but its price tag still consider steep when adding up the optional lens, accessory flashlight. It will cost more than a grand. If budget is also a factor of consideration, the NX2000 can fit in perfectly. The NX bundle lens kit cost less than $800.
So far the operation and picture quality of the NX2000 are pretty good. Its APS-C sensor definitely can react to more lights. The high ISO performance is very good below 6400 without noise. It is still tolerable if higher than 6400. The noise reduction from this camera is very good. The contrast AF is not bad, believe me it is not fast but really not bad. The 8fps continue shoot was surprising fast and perfect for motion sport. 20-50mm kit lens without image stabilization performs pretty well and the 50-200mm zoom lens with OIS is excellent.
Pro:
Price fits budget buyer who wants good quality picture and changeable lens compact camera.
Easy and clear in camera menu and touch screen with less button (I consider less button is a pro but some user don't)
Fast 8fps continue shooting with high accuracy to catch the perfect moment.
Big APS-C sensor gives better quality pictures. Combines with the high ISO low noise reduction, this camera can shoot without flash.
Many optional Samsung lens to choose ( I prefer buying the 16mm wide angle lens too)
Con:
Contrast AF not Phase detection (the speed is still acceptable to me)
No optional EVF, it is very difficult to see the screen under sun light. Samsung, how can we take a good photo under the sun light when the LCD screen is totally invisible by the reflection. I think Samsung needs to consider an option EVF that can be attached to the hot shoe like Sony did on the NEX.
Battery life is also unacceptable. I highly suggest purchase 2 or 4 for back up and you need a aftermarket wall charger.

Update Oct 1 2013: After continue usage of this camera, I found out the LCD screen under the bright sun light is really a problem. Although I can adjust the LCD brighter to make it easier to see, it will drain the battery faster. Samsung really needs to make an optional EVF to attach it on the hotshoe as soon as possible. I don't mind to spend couple hundreds to buy an optional EVF for this camera but seems Samsung is not listening to the feedback of the consumers. No tilting LCD panel + no optional EVF made the outdoor bright light shooting not too much fun.

Update Dec 4 2014: When I keep using this camera everyday on street, indoor, outdoor sport and car show, this camera continues give me the good quality result. I have no idea why some people gave one or two stars on the review. Some said the price on Amazon is more expensive than Costco then gave one star to the product. It seems it is not fair to this product. Some complained the auto focus is slow, I know this camera doesn't have a super fast AF focus with phase detection, but the speed is not too bad at all. The point & shot cameras are no way to compare. Remember this camera is not P&S, it is a DSLR like mirrorless camera. If you don't know how to use the M,A,S,P mode and its setting, you either don't buy this camera or go to take a photography lesson. Because I am sure if you can't take good pictures with this camera, it is either your skill or haven't learned the full function of this camera.

2) Samsung NX2000 20.3MP - I started with a Minolta SLR back in the early 70's, graduated to a Nikon SLR and a complete dark room. Did a lot of neat stuff "push-processing" film to increase the speed, then to color. Last 8 - 10 years a lot of digital gear, printing software and that was huge in terms of flexibility.
The Samsung NX2000 has exceeded my expectations, which is loaded with features you might expect to pay a much higher price for a much larger and heavier body. Some basic software (included in this purchase) and I was off and running. Very user friendly. 20 to 30 minutes with the manual and I was uploading to my iPad, Facebook and into files for storage. 15 year old grandson was able to do same with this camera.
Can not say enough about how user friendly this camera is.

SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

1) fun camera, wonderful pics, an EXCELLENT point and shoot... love it. just bought a second! - i LOVE this camera. it is small, versatile, very easy to use, innovative (the front lcd screen which shows you the live shot, just like the back screen, is a brilliant idea for self portraits and group shots.... just brilliant), and takes simply EXCELLENT amazingly crisp and sharp pictures. my other point and shoot was a sony with a carl zeiss lens -- now you know those are good lenses, but this samsung beats it hands down.

best best feature of this is the front lcd screen which lets you see the picture, just as if you were looking at the back lcd. so so innovative, so smart, and once you use it you wonder why all cameras don't have this amazing useful bit.

picture quality is superb. even on email mode, this picks up details that my sony had never seen and i couldn't believe it. seriously... a sony with a zeiss lens you would think is perfect!... but this is better. very very very happy with this purchase and i simply love this camera. i bought it in time to go to a wedding, and all the guests were awed with the front lcd also saying, oh my gosh i have to get one of those..... !!! and actually for one relative i hadn't seen in a while at the wedding, she was so in love with the cam to take family shots, i bought her one on the spot as a surprise, from amazon too!

my few pet peeves..... 1) this is a great camera, can you at least somehow make it look a little sexier?!!! it looks like any other camera on the market, but i think is much much better. basic black is SO SO boring. i didn't realize it comes in silver! but some other inventive colors would be nice too... also it seems to be VERY hard to get it in a color here in the u.s., tho i did find some on ebay after i had bought it on amazon.... dayam!!!). 2) battery life seems to be VERY short - about an hour with some active shooting. an hour shooting at a wedding or family event is NOT a lot of time! i have since bought backup batteries, and carry them. 3) this has a wonderful lcd on the front, which it says you can turn on by tapping. but no -- you must paw and pound at the front lcd for it to turn on. you have to paw at the front lcd to hard to turn it on (if you don't use the actual "front lcd button" to turn it on) that i actually thought the camera was broken. 4) though it has a touch-screen lcd on back, it never responds particularly accurate to my finger swipes even though i did calibration, it works much better with the stylus. when you "whoosh" the screen to go to the next screen, it ie goes too fast and goes all the way to the last screen. even if i whoosh it slowly just trying to move a screen ahead. then i have to whoosh oh so slowly and carefully back. 5) some of the menus, since they have several screens of options, need to have an indicator that shows there are more screens with options, like the sidebar on a window when you're on a computer that lets you know you can keep scrolling down.

but still, right now i wouldn't trade this camera for any other point and shoot on the market. it is great and i love it..... seriously, you will too. ;-)

**************

October 2011 UPDATE....

ok, now that i've had this camera a few months i can still say, I LOVE IT! BUY IT! ONE OF THE BEST POINT AND SHOOT CAMERAS OUT THERE.......!

plus seriously, EVERYONE who sees the front LCD loves it and says omg i must get that!

camera still works fine. i am a little less careful with it than when i first bought it and it was nice and pristine and shiny. it gets knocked around a bit in my messenger bag, and it does turn on by accident b/c the "on" button gets hit. but it is taking a licking and keeps on ticking.......

my only TWO complaints now that i've had it a few months......

1) it takes a LONG TIME to get ready for the next shot. like i think 4 seconds almost?! when you are trying to shoot at an event, you probably will loose the shot! of course, the reset is b/c it has to write the info to disk, battery must recharge flash... but seriously. this is about the slowest point and shoot i've ever used.

2) the "kid shot" function shows a little cartoon to get an inattentive baby's attention. BRILLIANT IDEA BUT...... it actually makes the kid look the wrong way in your photo, unless he or she is cross eyed! OH WELL! at least they are smiling........

still, this is a BRILLIANT camera and i love it. it is still right now the only point and shoot i'd buy. oh actually another improvement they could make is to wifi it. samsung does make wifi cameras, so you can transfer pics without cables and cards. but this one isn't one of them. next generation maybe?..... hopefully?.......

but seriously. you'll be very very happy with this. i love this camera. pretty sure you will too. unless you're you know uptight and grouchy.... or something like that......

2) Just a great camera and I take it with me wherever I go - I was planning to purchase a new camera back in December 2010 but did a lot of research and at one point I almost purchased the Samsung ST600 but was going to wait until we received our tax refund. I continued my research just in case something new came out and sure enough the ST700 was introduced. I waited until it was available and did some shopping around and found it for $221.00 which I thought was a great price. I have been using it but it has so many features that it is going to take a while to get through them all. The size is just great for all the stuff it has on it and friends are amazed at the quality f the photos and so am I. I also like the interface with my computer using the cable or pulling the card out to insert into the computer. I live in a wooded area and so we have all sorts of animals since we all left our back yards natural and the deer and other animals are there to take live videos and post them on Facebook. I hope t a lot of enjoyment from the camera. I think it was a great buy.

SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

1) Great camera, Essentially a pentax K10!! - This camera has really impressed me. I have owned a variety of DSLR's and have found this one to be the best. The tonal gradations achieved by this Sensor's 22 A/D conversion are stunning, this allows the camera to produce images that mimick Film. The lenses available include the whole Pentax line,( even though they say Samsung....they are rebadged Pentax!!), I love the Kit lens, 18-55 as well as the 50-200. Utilizing this excellent glass allows me to capture the Sharpest, most natural looking images, I have ever made from digital. As a bonus, like the Pentax K10, this camera has the optical stabilizer as well as the weather sealed body. Please note, I have owned a Nikon D2X and find the images from this camera superior in every way. Great job Pentax/Samsung!!

2) Stunning camera and very affordable - This is a heck of a camera for the price paid (I hate to say it but even at the current price it's a steal). To start off, you can use all the pentax AF lenses made virtually in the past 50 years and don't need adapters. You can use 95% of the MF ones without adapters as well. And these are VERY high quality lenses. You get them really cheap. For example, you can get a stunning high quality 70-210mm AF (autofocus) lens made by pentax (takumar) for less than $70. The slightly better one (pentax-F version) 70-210mm can be had for about $150. It has silky smooth background or bokeh (9 blades) and sharper than a lot of the prime (fixed focus) lenses, boosting 3.4 MTF rating (normalized to 5). If you use this camera body along with a Tamron 28-75/2.8 XR DI for pentax mount, you have a higher quality hardware set than Nikon or Canon even with their best glasses, for about 1/5 the cost, for indoor/wedding photography. Of course, this assumes you have the know-how and shooting in RAW, to be fair (no pro would shoot in JPG doing wedding portraits in their right minds). I am no pro and this camera is more than enough for all my needs, by the way. My 3rd most favored lens would be my pentax-f 50mm/1.7 AF. I wished I have access to the same 1.4 version that rumored to be slightly better (I do have current AF pentax FA 50mm/1.4 but prefer the old 1.7).

Of course, you know the rest about this camera, in body shake reduction, weather seal etc. The only down side of this, is the slow AF under low light. But for me, this is not that big of a problem. (I use MF to take photos of my kids running around me).

SOME OF THE SAMPLE CUSTOMER REVIEW FROM AMAZON :

1) Nice camera, Nice features, Nice Scratch.  - Nice camera with nifty features. NFC and WiFi seems to work good. Email feature from the camera is nice and easy too. Here's my BUT... I did see this was a refurb and have had good luck with refurbs before but, the camera I received has a deep scratch on the touch screen and a couple of good ones on the top as well. So I guess the phrase "shows limited or no wear" in the description means the word "limited" has different meanings to different people.

By bob m on September 21, 2014

2) Excellent Camera ! - This thing is awesome! The only thing I would have to say is that the soft ware is not compatable with iOS 8. The baby monitor however works flawlessly. The pictures are perfect. Big touch screen, not to mention you don't even really use the buttons.
