1) If you have the money... - Sure you can weigh the pros and cons of buying this Leica D-Lux 4 Titanium or saving money and getting it's cheaper counterpart. If you have the money...just do it...splurge a little, you won't be disappointed. Filled out the warranty online, which gives me 3 years total. Updated to the newest firmware 1.20 which was very easy using my SDHC card. The average person doesn't know the beauty of this camera, but those who know will instantly praise this beauty. Beautiful pictures and surprisingly really good HD video in 16:9 aspect ratio. There are many settings that are easily accessible with the quick user interface. A large and bright LCD makes taking pictures very easy. Compared pictures with this and my fathers Olympus, this blows it away, the light that this lens brings in is truly amazing. With it's matching case this is CLASS all the way around, you will get compliments from those that know.

2) Perfect - Things you need to know:
1. This takes INCREDIBLE pictures. i can take professional quality pictures and have to lug around.... essentially nothing. 2. The learning curve was a little rough but once you get it, everything is perfection. 3. It is beautiful. stunning. it was worth the extra money when I bought this.
mine was stolen from my house during a home invasion. I got it back because in searching craigslist and ebay, etc., when the limited edition popped up on my end of the state, i gave the cops the serial number and had them pick it up. i had had tons of stuff stolen (laptops, jewelry and so on)and it was the one thing i actually had cried over. I was elated to have it be the one item that was ever recovered.

1) just love this camera - After using my Kodak camera since 2005 I felt it was time to upgrade. The one thing that drove me to purchase this camera is that is is weather sealed and has an internal mirror cleaner. Being hone in NJ or in the AZ desert so far I have not had any problems with weather, cold, desert dust. I am glad I purchased this camera would recommend it to anyone who wants to take really nice pictures and not have to worry about the weather.

2) weather sealed , hell of a camera - Because of the place i leave, i need a camera handy if i want to go outside (most of the days are rainy or snowy). i love outside shooting, birds and sports stuff. I also need camera sometimes outside because of my profession. I already got other dslrs t3i and d7100, with many objectives. This little fella is my LIFE SAVER. I will not say it gets better pictures than d7100; it is not - as expected. However i dont want my d7100 ruined ( although i use body sleeves for all - i lost one outside). Moreover, quick "paintshop" operations just make it very near to quality of d7100. I bought this set for one grand. It saved me more than a grand already. Whenever it is rainy, snowy or windy i took only this with me. It just deserve all the money i paid for it.
You cannot compare this with other water proof point and shoot ones. This one is way better, near to a performance of t3i, maybe better. It is not as good as my d7100 though, but comparing the quality of them is nonsense. This one is for a different purpose and it works very well for me. Buy it if you are gonna use the machine in heavy weather condition. Otherwise buy a basic entrance level dslr. Price entrance level dslrs are 2\3 of this. If you use mostly inside and you need a good one, buy medium to professional dslrs.
By the way, it might be helpful to remind you, don't change objectives under rain or snow or wind.

1) so far I really like it, I think the best automatic true 360 ... - Just got the cam this morning, so far I really like it , I think the best automatic true 360 degree cam on the market, I used a lot other cameras before so I can see the difference , it truly cover 360 degree up and down.
The still resolution is nice however I am getting some chromatic aborations on the white parts of the elements in photo , I tried also to make HDRI however got some app issue , it lose connection with the WiFi at distance of 15 feet , I tried to hide from the pic behind the car . Also the objects in distance are not sharp and little fuzzy . there are minor issue with the app on android, but the camera do the job as expected and I am going to keep it. I was not much interested in 360 videos but will test it later as well. I made some unwrapped images to see how it works with manual setting via the app on android phone . The images looks better when viewed via the sphere plugin also used mono-pod with
Edit : Just made tests outside it is 10:00 PM , fantastic photos , the noise reduction under cam setting is excellent improving the night shots so much. I am shooting all pictures with the noise reduction function it is like double quality, make sure you change the image resolution to high under settings.

2) An evolutionary but not revolutionary step up from the Theta m15 - I borrowed the previous model (the m15) from a friend. My conclusion was that I really liked the form factor (no other 360 camera on the market or coming soon is anywhere close) but that the m15 photos just didn't hold up to viewing in current generation HMDs (like the GearVR). The resolution was too low, and the dynamic range was not on par with point and shoot digital cameras (or even my phone camera). When the Theta S was announced, I preordered it on the strength of the m15 hoping for improvements in resolution.
The S is a step up in resolution from the m15, and holds up much better to viewing in GearVR. Exposure and sharpness is good for nearby objects (e.g. the inevitable self portrait you get if you shoot with it in your hand). Beyond 20' or so things start to get pretty soft. It still has poor dynamic range, leading to blown out white skies when your subject (and the primary exposure) is in shade. Branches silhouetted against the sky lose definition as the light blooms around the branches. Overall, photos from the S are better than the m15, but you would have trouble telling which camera took a photo unless you were comparing two shots taken in the same spot.
The phone remote control requires a different app than the m15, but the functionality is basically identical. The S has live preview, but that seems to strain the weak WiFi in the camera, and remote shutter range is less than 10' (for reliable operation) when the live preview is on. With live preview off, remote control responsiveness and range is much better. With auto download on, we discovered that you could hugely influence download speed (and thus the ability to shoot another photo) by moving the Theta physically closer to the phone (from 5' to point blank).
The camera does store orientation information in each image, so you can hold the camera at any angle and still be able to view it upright on your phone or PC. Only the PC app can rotate the image and save it out again, and that process is slow and requires many mouse clicks. The GearVR app from Oculus (360photos) does not obey the rotation information, so if the camera was not upright it will display at a crazy angle until you postprocess on the PC.
The S comes with a neoprene sleeve (as opposed to the zipper bag of the m15) which is extremely snug (especially at first) and has a lot of friction with the rubberized shell of the S. It's open on the bottom, leaving the ports exposed while the camera is in the case.
The S controls feel very responsive (the m15 had a bit of a delay that you could get used to). The 360 stitching in the camera seems to be improved a bit over the m15. If you put the S on a skinny monopod-like stand, it will capture an almost uninterrupted full sphere. The only part of the stand I see is the bit of the round locking thumbwheel (part of the tripod) where it extends beyond the base of the camera.
If you want to take 360 snapshots, this camera does a great job of that in a very convenient form factor. If you want to take high quality 360 photospheres, you will need to do a lot of additional work (e.g. manually taking multiple exposures and combining them for HDR).

REVIEW FROM AMAZON:
1) The best book for ALL photographers. rank amatuer to advanced amatuer. -In the more than four decades I've been a pro photographer, I have never seen a book quite like this. Concise but thorough... easy to find the subject your looking for if you're more advanced. Each hint includes a sample photo of the effect. Almost every hint takes up no more than one page... some just half a page. Book is soft bound BUT has metal corners on the right hand side as you look at the front of the book. I would highly recommend this, the best overall book on photography, to my pro friends as a refresher... and to those wanting to learn almost everything important in photography all the way up to becoming creative with your camera. This book is more geared to those with a DSLR, but a lot of information applies to point-and-shoot cameras as well. My reason for purchasing this book (4 copies!, three copies at Costco and one on Amazon) was to give as a gift to the four people in my extended family around the world (in-laws) who have a VERY severe interest in photography, but need some guidance in many aspects of photography. This book is perfect for those who have spent a year or so learning how to take photographs (as opposed to snapshooting). There are a FEW things covered that would be useful to "professionals" who want to truly meet the expectations of their clients. This is NOT a complete encyclopedia in photography. NO single book fits that description. What makes this a great book is that hints are explained in laymen's terms without being over simplistic.

2) The best book that I have ever owned in my life. -This book is amazing. It is like a photography bible. It is a must have for anyone shooting with any type of camera, from a cell phone camera to a large format camera. Every single page is vibrate with pictures and numerous pieces of advice. There are 355 topics touched on, in the categories of gear and setup, composing and shooting and processing and beyond. The book even looks amazing. The front cover is holographic and the book has metal on the corners, so they don't get bent, I guess. Don't hesitate. Don't even add it to your cart. Just hit "buy with one click." This will be the best photography book that you'll ever own. (Until Pop Photo's next book release.. Maybe.)
